The ClearTopBox Company LLC of Bolivar, Missouri has a solution to a problem that has persisted in the Emergency Services field for some time.

Emergency Service personnel have struggled with finding just the right product to contain controlled substances. A drug box that is secure, simple and easy to verify its contents without requiring excessive handling time.

As Emergency Service personnel would come off duty or at shift change, they would either have to open the controlled substance container to verify the contents or they would shake the container in order to get the drugs in an appropriate position to read the expiration dates. After verification, the personnel would then sign off and transfer custody of the drugs.

This method ensured security, but had some shortcomings. The seal had to be broken to inspect the controlled drugs. This resulted in additional handling and increased the opportunity for dropping and breaking the contents or breaking the tamper proof seal. If the container was partially translucent, it was shaken to improve the readability of the labels, which again increased the chance of damaging
its contents.

The ClearTopBox Company’s product is constructed with translucent injection molded ABS plastic (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). This provides for a very durable box, but most importantly, it’s translucent on all sides to allow visual inspection from virtually any angle without having to break the seal and open the box.

This container is longer than traditional control boxes to allow easy access for loading and unloading the contents. The interior walls are shorter to allow vials or syringes to be easily removed or loaded with even the largest of hands. It has a lock pin with two holes; one for a padlock and the other for a tamper proof drug seal, ensuring security.

The ClearTopBox Company finished the box nicely, rounding all edges and corners to prevent damage to personnel or equipment. All in all, this product is a great improvement over traditional products for security, verification and ease of use-a big time saver.
